Get Rid of Your Tree Limbs for Free
Manitou Springs offers a helpful Neighborhood Chipping Program. This service assists residents in disposing of tree branches from tree trimming and tree removal activities to mitigate wildfire risk. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department schedules this program annually.
The Neighborhood Chipping Program mobilizes a woodchipper to all Manitou Springs neighborhoods every year. You can use this program to dispose of tree branches for free. Eligible branches must be less than 4 inches in diameter.
Large piles should be separated into smaller piles with limbs no greater than 4 inches in diameter
Residents should place neatly stacked tree branches – with the cut ends facing the road – near the road for easy collection by 7am on the date that your zone starts (shown below). There is a limit (5ft x 5ft x 5ft) for the size of each pile – but there is no limit on the number of piles. So just make sure that your wood chipping pile doesn’t get too large – and leave plenty of room between piles.
Plies need to be neatly stacked, smaller than 5’x5’x5’ with cut ends facing the street
Wood Only
The chipper is only for wood. This means no other materials will be processed. So that means no dirt or rocks, no thorny branches accepted, no pine needles, no construction materials, no yard waste (like grass refuse or leaves),
